With Nintendo creating thousands of video games since the mid 1980s, there’s bound to be tons of popular games that you just never got around to playing.
Whether it be for lack of interest, time, money or whatever, we’ve all skipped a game that has now come to be considered a “classic.”
I started thinking about this and wondered just how many of these classics I’ve missed out on in my lifetime.
Besides the glaringly obvious Super Mario 64.
That is honestly a much smaller amount than I would’ve guessed, judging by how the majority of my gaming experiences have been Nintendo games.
But when it comes to games that are considered classics, I clearly haven’t played that many.
Now the IGN article is from September 2014 so there’s about 3 years’ worth of games that aren’t included. In that 3 years, I have played several Nintendo games but I still doubt that’d raise my score much since most of the games I missed out on are from the pre-Wii era.
So let’s look at some of the things on this list that I haven’t played:
1. Super Mario 64
2. All Metroid games
3. Any Legend of Zelda game that’s not Ocarina of Time
4. Pokemon Red/Blue/Green
5. Super Mario Kart
6. Mario Kart 64
7. Mario Kart Double Dash
8. Mario Kart DS
9. Any Warioware game
10. Any Wario Land game
11. Any Fire Emblem game
12. The whole Earthbound series
14. GoldenEye 007
15. Any Star Fox game
16. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
17. Advance Wars
18. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
19. Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
20. Xenoblade Chronicles
21. Donkey Kong Country
22. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
23. Donkey Kong Country Returns
24. Any F-Zero game
25. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
27. Pokemon Snap
28. Mario Tennis
How many of Nintendo’s more popular games have you missed out on? Is there a popular series you just don’t like, for one reason or another? Let me know in the comments!
